My review of the Chenonceau and Chambord day trip
Verdict: the right booking if you are already in the Loire. Nine hours by minibus from Tours or Amboise, taking in the two châteaux that Amboise is not — the beautiful one and the enormous one. Rated 4.7 across eighty-eight reviews, which is enough to trust.
Why this rather than the Paris day
Because you skip four hours of motorway. The Paris departure reviewed on this page spends a third of its day driving to and from the valley. If you are staying in Amboise or Tours, this one starts where that one arrives, and the difference goes into the châteaux.
It also pairs naturally with Amboise rather than competing with it. Amboise takes an hour and you can do it yourself on any evening; Chenonceau and Chambord take half a day each and involve parking. Let someone else drive to those two. The reasoning is on which châteaux to visit.
