How to choose in thirty seconds
If you are based in Paris with no car and want the Loire in one day, take the small-group day trip. It includes entry to Amboise, Chenonceau and Chambord, puts a guide at each one, and takes twelve hours door to door. It is the only format that removes the ticket desk entirely.
If you are already in Amboise and want the story rather than the cartels, take the guided visit of the château — ninety minutes, ten people maximum, French or English. Read the one catch first: the château entrance is not included and must be bought at the desk beforehand.
